How to use a rarity gem in the right way? With which active gem to put?

It will only provide a bonus to the skill that deals the killing blow.

Don't.
Rarity isn't an important stat as it doesn't impact currency drops. If you're looking for me drops you are better getting some equipment with "increased quantity". Search Google for Poe magic find gear. |

what is better, rarity, or quantity? |

" Sorry for slow reply, I don't come on the forums much. Quantity impacts how much loot that drops, this includes currency. Rarity impacts the rarity of the item that drops (normal, magic, rare, unique) but doesn't impact the amount of loot that drops and doesn't impact the quality of currency that drops. As with most things in PoE, more is better than increased. The reason rarity is essentially pointless and a wasted stat/link is that 99% of the items that drop aren't worth even looking at. Helping them to drop one rarity higher isn't going to make it worth anything. Even most of the uniques in the game are worth nothing without perfect rolls. Quantity on the other hand still allows those high rarity items to drop, even more so because you drop more items in general. Whilst you may see less uniques that are worth less than 1c, you will see a huge increase in the amount of currency, maps and other stuff that drops that are worth much more. In summary, Quantity = good Rarity = bad. NB. Rarity is also extremely useful on ssf as you can't simply buy the 1c unique you need, you must drop it or chance it yourself. |
