exalted? i thought i had a lot of them but it's chaos i had them confused with.. turns out i have precisely ZERO exalted - just turned level 60 and im guessing exalted is end game currency?

Yep theyre kind pricey.. exalts are roughly 80 chaos

I can sell for 50 chaos or some currency that equates to that, but since you're only level 60 I assume you don't even have that. I'd advise just playing more before thinking about buying build specific items.
