Reinstalling to see if that helps.
Also replying to myself.. to help... nevermind... 😢 |

Can’t speak for Xbox, but on PS4, muting your sound effects volume in the sound settings reduces crashes substantially. But yeah, reinstalling doesn’t help in my experience. Game is just busted and they refuse to acknowledge it — let alone fix it.

" First... IF there is truly a problem with your installation of PoE, console hardware, exclusively local conditions, then that's not something anyone else can diagnose. So, rule those sorts of things out if you can. (There's no "game-install checker" for consoles AFAIK. It'd be bad PR...) Second: The below is just my opinion. A) Ensuring that your connection from your console to PoE's servers is the best it can possibly be is the most important thing that you, the user, can do in order to have a good play experience. Nothing else is more important or will yield better results in performance than this one thing. PoE is a very "talkative" game, requiring an excellent connection so it can yammer back and forth with PoE servers. And, because such a connection is "assumed" and because there's only so much a game can do in order to control communication errors (else it becomes a game of watching the console constantly check itself) when an error in communication does occur... PoE just say's "screw it" and crashes. B) The console is a box of "adequate" computer gaming gear. It's adequate. That's it. It's possible to do more than the console is prepared to handle in PoE. When possible, try to develop a habit of letting areas load up before charging in. Incorporate that into your "twitch" muscle memory where you can. IOW - Don't just keep pressing the Flame Dash button over and over in order to cross a map before the map's contents can fully load and then open up with your Lightning-Cyclone build in the closest, densest, pack of mobs... :) Sometimes, you have to choose a character build based on your console's limitations, too. C) Sometimes, the issue can truly be game-related or GGG-related. Sometimes, the issue can be caused by network outages and problems outside of GGG's, your's, or your ISP's control. When these things happen, you just have to do your best to make sure the problem isn't something you can affect a solution for, first. The Next Gen of consoles will hit the shelves in the 4'th Quarter of this year. That will help free up some console-related restraints. But, I sincerely hope that GGG remains a good steward and doesn't see this as an opportunity to add "more stuff" to the point where performance is actually worse. |
