Item pick-up
If I have an ability set to my A button I want the ability to take priority. If I have it Set it to blank I want my cursor to automatically highlight any item near me using the general priority algorithm. Anytime I am near an item and tap A, I should pick it up, I should not have to flip around with the right stick, if I am in range and press a without an ability slotted there I want to be picking up items immediately.

I want my item pick up to be as immediate as when I double tap on a body part and accidentally clicked the metamorphosis machine and almost immediately the menu for it comes up accidentally, sometimes killing me. Make the highlight priority for the machine high if and only if you are standing still near it maybe. I’m so sick of having to backtrack to pick up items.

I would like to see the interaction or collection action changed to L3. Similar to blight. That way you dont accidently hit the room or portal when trying to throw, plant or even escape. L3 binding would be ideal.

" We don't have enough buttons on a controller to more properly fix this issue and neither consoles nor PCs are going to have the power to proximity track every single item relative to the player in real-time in order to make them available for pickup mechanics during a fight that resembles fifty-eleven lighting-bolt-throwing cats being set on fire inside a fish factory... (Even if they could, how could they exercise discretion on their own? That'd be some intense figurin'...) Use the "No Filter" option. Enter "end game mob-spam map" filter. That's a lot of trash that would rely on some constantly running process running for each and every single item you "might" want to pick up. I don't like PoE's targeting, either. However, it's the best that can be done IMO. It's darn amazing they've managed to make it effective considering how much garbage can be on the screen at one time. It really is. It's darn remarkable that Targeting something works at all on a console. :) Thankfully, there's enough trash mobs that targeting something specific just doesn't matter a whole bunch. Of course, the problem is magnified when you're on a timer and have to "click on" that one activation button or you fail, horribly... This is why I hate "Blight." Some builds are ineffective in Blight on console simply due to the play-mechanics and NOT to the game-mechanics because of the controller vs mouse&keyboard issues surrounding targeting and activation mechanics. EVERY SINGLE TIME I see Cassia I just click on her to start the event and then keep running past her... Let that crazy so-and-so deal with her own darn horticulture problems. I wish I could hear her screams from across the map just so I could imagine her being horribly mutilated... (No, I am not very fond of her. :)) Last edited by Morkonan on Dec 30, 2019, 1:20:32 PM

" Tbh, if he has a build and puts no slot on the loot button, and its only purpose is looting, it should just do that. With a properly set filter and the ability to loot efficiently in midfight or just running around, it would just be really awesome. Right now I have personally convocation on that slot, a bit annoying that it always triggers my cooldown, even if it loots, but I think its still the better tradeoff, than having it not cast, when you loot by accident and you really need that skill. But if I choose not to put something in, looting should work as he suggested. +1 |
