Quick Question about a gem

I am currently making a Brand Inquisitor but I am confused as to why you would want Controlled Destruction seeing as it has 100% reduced critical strike chance. I have looked around but haven't found an explanation really as to why loosing all the crit would be a good thing.

that 100% crit reduction is based on your base value and not the added value .

like in my case , i got 60% crit chance and i f i apply 100% crit reduction gem . I will get around 57% not 0% .
