The demo is currently available on steam. I enjoyed playing it. It's a pretty good pixel arpg.

There certainly aren't enough of those on Steam already or anything... :P
I'm playing a lot of It Lurks Below lately myself. Absolutely brutal for melee classes, but I still keep playing them. I'm some kind of masochist, I guess. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

I think children of morta is more ambitious than most of the pixel arpgs I have played so far. Give it a try mate, demo is free anyways :-)
