I did actually, it mentions how developers released garbage, people complained and devs blamed them instead of blaming their publishers. It demonstrates the big issue those days, which is the folks getting paid the most , the ones taking the bad decisions.

The examples they used in that article are f2p games so I am not sure what is their point. Gamers would also be happy with single player games that are done properly.
Let's have a look at a few industry trends from the past 10+ years:

- Switch to "games as a service" model
- Release unfinished games so that you can meet deadlines no matter what and...
- ...Release 4 DLC's a year
- Remove modding abilities so that players can't help your games along with FREE content anymore
- Remove dedicated server client support so that players can't host your games anymore

Sorry but this ain't on the players.
I'm done with AAA games on PC and console.

Been burned too many times now with unfinished crap releases, loot boxes, boring games that get ratings of 9-10 and whatever else.

I've been enjoying indy games quite a bit more in recent years.

Basically publishers try to milk the shiznut out of the game and when players push back, developers blame the buyers for not being grateful.

''How dare you criticize the garbage we are trying to feed you! We are trying to milk you, so stop complaining! '' .
i don't ever see any player asking dev. for working 14 hours a day
