yep. and ground effects.
Hmm, I have 8 maxed out characters, self found and haven't had any of those problems. The ground effects can be avoided (speed mostly) or mitigated with an Aether Custer.

Haven't had problems with freeze, but stun can be sometimes a problem, but there're ways to build around stun avoidance.I've noticed a few of the top PoE streamers playing it lately.

A guy named Malagant, top player, has very good streams and always pauses to answer questions and help others.

Grim Dawn has only 7 developers and I think they've done a great job with the resources they have.

PoE on the other hand,IMO, has seriously degraded since I started it about 5 years ago and I'm almost to the point of giving up on it with all its bullshit mechanics and cheap shots and bugs.
Of course you can avoid stun in grim dawn as well as freeze. But its the same in poe. Speed/gear is the key. same as in poe. This is what the threadopener doesn't realize. currently i'm bored with synthesis too, but that has nothing to do with bullshit effects.

well i do hate the petrify ability some betrayal dudes cast on me from 2 screens away, but mostly i can still tank it.

GD is WAY more dependent on gear than PoE.

many PoE builds can operate on generic items with life/es + res gear with little damage on gear.

in GD I dont know many builds can operate off that kinda gear, maybe some very generic default attack cadence phys builds or something. even then, phys resist reduction isnt trivial to get in GD.

plus the fact that items have valuable procs on them makes them even more important.
