I'm all for changing business practices to help the environment out, but the paper straws they are offering now are the actual epitome of shit.
On the plus side I now carry a reusable plastic one in my bag in case I need it, so I guess they still got me to make less waste lol. Souls along a conduit of blood, from one vessel to the next.

How Long are you keeping the straw in the drink for?
And which place are you getting them from? A&W here in Canada is so far the only place I have seen that has made the switch. I have gotten drinks from them 2 or 3 times so far since the switch. The straws have not clogged up or gotten soft enough too. Beside feeling different on the lips that is nothing wrong with them. We even switch to paper straws for our Hotel and have not had any issues of them clogging up. |

I have not even seen a paper straw yet.
Censored.

Paper straws are waxed, before anyone here starts thinking they are like tiny-diameter elongated toilet paper rolls.
Sumerians used straws for drinking beer to avoid the sludge from fermentation with the oldest, golden, lapis lazuli inlaid drinking straw found in existence, found in a Sumerian tomb dating back to 3,000 BC. |
