Work in progress : 3.5 STANDARD Driedfuchs TS-Raider (high life, high dodge, enough damage)

Still work in progress ... not ready yet

Hi,

some players asked me to write a guide for my standard-Ranger.

It is a Raider with several layers of defense, high life and enough damage to clean all maps.

Before I start: I don't have the time to play leagues and because of that I started to build up a tanky char with not so bad offense in standard. So this is not a league-char - a lot of items are very expensive and a good amount (and core ones) of them even are legacy.

There are a lot of bow-chars running around with ~4.500 life which biggest defense is their very high damage (kill things before they kill you). This are very successful and viable builds but I wanted to build my ranged char a bit more tanky. So I started to find a good mixture between life, evasion, dodge, spell-dodge and damage and in the end I got very hard to kill with several layers of defense.

The concept in short: don't get hit [60% chance to evade attacks, 61% to dodge attacks, 40% spell-dodge, enemies are blinded, slowed (Temporal Chains) and have lower accuracy(Enfeeble)] and if I get hit have enough life (around 7.800 right now) to stay alive and leech the lost life instantly back (with Acuity + crit-capped without Diamond-flask).

the gear:

Helmet: You need +2 TS-enchant. Look for high life, needed resistances, Accuracy on a rare one. A unique alternative helmet would be Starkonjas.

Chest: I took a elder-chest with high life (flat + %), resistances + 1.5% base-crit (it gives me around 1000 life).
Unique to use would be Farrul's or QotF (but there are better guides here if you are going this route I think) or Kaoms (non-legacy gives around 600 more life, legacy one will give around 2.200 more) for more life.

Gloves: legacy Acuity for instant leech. Curse on hit corruption is not necessary.

Boots: Rare temple-boots (11-12% chance to dodge attacks or spells) with high life and resistances.

Quiver: rare with additional arrow, life, damage mods. Corrupted for an additional arrow, + chain or pyhs to element conversion (legacy mod)

Bow: High damage Harbinger with high Crit

Amulet: High damage amulet with life or Solstice Vigil (got one with additional curse so I’m trying this one right now for a second curse)

Rings: Opal- or Steelrings with high damage, life, accuracy, attack-speed, resistances.

Belt: Rare Stygian Vise or Headhunter

Jewels: classic Viridian jewels with life, attack speed with bows and other damage-mods, missing resistances or searching eyes with life and damage mods. Watchers Eye with Crit- and Conversion Hatred. Lioneyes Fall.
Get one jewel with “corrupted blood cannot be inflicted on you”

Flask: Vessel of Vinktar (conversion or flat), Taste of Hate, Dying Sun, Wise Oak [get your resistances equa], Quicksilver Flask
