Who can review my first ever self made build please?

Hi, like the title says i made my first build. i got tired of following other people's builds but it always was a little overwhelming.. until now.
I made a vaal burning arrow build.

if anyone would be so kind to take a look and maybe point out some mistakes or better paths to take.

It would be much appreciated. I hope to learn alot.

I'd recommend trying to follow more experienced players' builds until you have a better grasp on the game. Usually when you plan a build, you should plan for what you want the build to look like in the endgame. This character looks like it will struggle to finish the story.

If you want some general pointers, here are some:
1. You want to plan to have much more life. Builds with <5k life at level 80 (the minimum to hit this tree) are already unplayable imo. You will die to one hit from anything.
2. You don't have any resists at all. This compounds the above problem - even if you had a few thousand more life you would still be dying in one hit to any elemental damage.
3. You don't do any damage. You are using Quill Rain which has a multiplicative penalty to all your damage, for instance. Think about the ways in which you want to scale your damage.
4. You waste a lot of points on this tree and don't get any jewel slots. You want to spend as few points as possible to get the best nodes. You can use the checkbox at the bottom of PoB to help show you which nodes are the highest value for a given skill.

The best thing to do is look at some established builds and see what kinds of items and gems they are using, and see what their offensive and defensive stats are like. PoE is a really complex game and it took me several (failed) characters before I started to really understand how things work.

The gear in pob was what i had on at that moment. i will be switching to a lioneye's glare at lvl 66 and currently i have a death's harp.

For the resist i took alira and i have 14% on the tree, i thought it would be enough from the tree alone.

I do agree that im wasting points and i will look into it.

How much life do you want to hit from the tree alone? because the imported gear was only low level and will be updated ofcourse in the future with higher life.
