LL RF Question

Figured I'd post this here as well:

I am currently seeking to make my upgrade to better gear for my LL RF Guardian. However, the one thing I am confused on with the build is whether or not resistances need to be capped outside of the purity auras. can anyone clarify? And, if they do, can you briefly explain why. TYVM in advance.
