LLD races and other pvp fixes
So now that the state of LLD has reached an all time low, instead of complaining (to deaf ears) about what's wrong with it I thought it would be time to try to come up with new ways of making PVP more popular. Anyone with any constructive ideas (constructive meaning not involving shoving any object into any orifice or telling me to jump off a cliff or . . . ) is welcome to chime in.
My idea: lvl 28 races. sign up for the race. your character is temporarily put in a no xp gain ssf league. item and currency drops should stay the same. start in a say lvl 30 (or higher) zone. hardcore or softcore. I'm not sure of ideal race length, 2 hour? 8 hour? 2day? 7 day? Go balls out with your tuned LLDer and see what its got. How far can you get with a powerful lvl 28 character? Have decent rewards. This would only increase interest in LLD. Last bumped on Jan 23, 2018, 1:42:34 AM

I think you will agree that this is the best fix for LLD: Replace all skill gems with Volatile Dead and replace all weapons with Poet's Pen.
On a more serious note - I think if GGG balanced the skills more for PvP a lot more people would be interested in PvP. No reason for giant balls of fire to chase people around the entire arena and do a ton of damage. If you want to be competitive at all why would you try to make a well thought out, creative build when you can easily just pick the most broken skill to kill 99% of people with ease? If skills were balanced better for PvP it would be more about skill which would probably attract more people to try PvP. |

" Unlike you I'll never say that I'm good at pvp, because unlike you I'm not. However, I've played this game for 6 years and I see the main problem with pvp as being a lack of interest. PvE populations nearly always outweigh PvP populations in games. If you give the PvErs a reason to be interested in PvP, and here specifically in LLD, the LLD population would only increase. POE is becoming a non thinking spamfest. Nearly infinite build possibilities and our thinking degenerates into a few meta builds. Similar to Magic the Gathering in a way. Coming up with novel synergies and challenging your LLD build with PvE content I think would be extremely fun. |

" Even with balancing there will still be problems due to the serious PvPers grinding hard, tuning their builds, and still stomping a non serious PvPer. LLD races gives PvErs the motivation to work and tweak a level 28 build. |
