GUA - DEA [3.1] Frostbolt Totems! A Kikazaru build .. work in progress

Just to provide some background on myself. I have been playing Path of Exile since its launch. Have played a number of totem builds. Most notably Shockwave Totem and Siege Ballista. Both of which I have made guides for in the past. I also spent a bit of time playing Dark Pact totems at the start of 3.0

In this forum post I will discuss the Ascendant Frostbolt Totem build.

playstyle
This build will play like a cross between Dark Pact Totems and Siege Ballista. Fast totem placement, good mobility, high sustain and long range.

leveling
This is one of the strong points of this build style. Kikazarus can be used as early as level 20! They are one of the best leveling rings available.

Soul Mantle can be used before killing Act 5 Kitava! (highly recommended)

Between using dual Kikazarus and a Soul Mantle. Adding a Brightbeak makes for one of the best leveling experiences you could have.

struggling with damage?
I have had a few players pop into my stream and ask or state their damage did not seem as good as mine was in the video so let's go over some things with that said.

1. It won't be as good as mine until you put in as much time and effort as I did. This is VERY common. Either gems arent leveled or they have no quality. Or you just flat out need more levels so you can fill out more passives. Builds take time

2. Make sure you are not using a curse immunity flask! Generally, a flask of warding is a good thing to have but this build utilizes the curses for damage. If you constantly clear them, it can feel lackluster.

3. When using Kitava's thirst your mana cost on Frostbolt Totem MUST BE AT LEAST 100! So if you are on a 5 link this can be a problem when using clusters like Tireless or Righteous Decree

I am not a fan of hierophant because of the substantial damage penalty Ritual of Awakening has. Will look into a bit more soon.

Why Scion? Why Guardian/Deadeye?

Guardian enables 100% reduced curse effectiveness on your character. Deadeye gives decent stats for projectile builds.

Ascendant is a deceptively strong class for totem builds because of the extra passive points you get from the tree.

Hello Wabachaw, build seems fun. I just ripped my Dark Pact totem character and wanted to do frostbolt totems cause of the long range clearspeed.

2 Questions:

1-> Is this HC viable?

2-> Could i do Uberlab with it? ( not farm, just do it once).

I can do uber lab with 2 or 3 ppl.. But it take some time.. No worries in traps.. Just walk...
