Website Skill tree using +50% cpu

I don't know what the skill tree is doing behind the scenes but it needs to calm down. When I have this page

 Maybe it needs to be optimized better? just for comparison this is how much of my cpu the actual game uses

With further testing It only seems to occur with google chrome. both edge and Firefox stay below 3% cpu usage.

We switched to using requestAnimationFrame for the Passive Skill Tree which should restrict it's framerate (and therefore most of the intensive calculations) to whatever your browser specifies.
Are you using a high framerate monitor by chance? Also could you paste your Google Chrome version (chrome://settings/help) here so that we can try to reproduce your problem? Thanks! ✮

I can confirm that Google Chrome behaves as per OP
Version 61.0.3163.100 (Official Build) (64-bit) Always makes my PC reboot too if PoE is running at the same time. Very strange, nothing else has that effect on my PC. 😹😹😹😹😹

The Opera browser has the exact same behavior as the OP.
