Cheese while Channelling - the build
Mechanics:
The main point: CWC does not modify the T value of the supported skill, but still fires it at an almost 3 casts per second rate (in a way, this can be abused more than fixed T value of a skill) Higher T value means higher damage, because the skill is assumed to be casted at that rate, and the PvP penalty is calculated for that assumed cast time. Because of this the build focuses on getting as low cast speed as possible, no increase from passives at all, and -35% on gear from legacy Doedre gloves, and a Scolds (can get further -20% from anvil and ribbons chest, but not worth it imo) fun fact: if -100% would be possible, the build would do infinite amounts of damage with every hit (pls GGG add some more overlooked uniques) fun fact 2: under the effect of TC the proc rate is the same, so the DPS is not affected at all, only your movement. In comparsion to a self cast build, you drop spell echo, and one other support gem, you lose some cast speed if you were faster than 0.35 cast time before, and gain:
CWC also seem to have a small delay before the first spell is casted. *Even without an elreon ring, using lvl1 blight is only 3 mana per 0.46 seconds (6.5 per sec) which is sustained by literally no investment. **Estimated damage gain equals to this much more damage multiplier compared to a self cast version with the same DPS, see details below.
T-value math, PvP DPS calculation
Calculator link Comparsion of the self-cast and the CWC builds' damage with Fireball, assuming the following: Both builds have the same original flat damage per hit because the 2 supports required for CWC and proc skill are made up by dropping Spell echo and it's 10% less damage penalty, the 10% more damage gain from CWC, and other bonus gains from not needed any cast speed or mana. Inputs (I have around this much with EO up, or evne more with some setups): 30000-50000 Fire damage 80% penetration 100% Crit multi (EO) 3 Uses per second (0.333 original T) 1.32 OVERRIDE use time (THE T) CWC PvP damage per hit: 4941 - 6645 To calculate the output difference, we remove the override use time, so the original 0.333 T is used: Self cast PvP damage per hit: 2772 - 3728 And start adding value at the Other MORE / LESS multipliers bracket. With a 2.7 value used, we get 4932 - 6632, which means that the self cast version would need +170% MORE damage multiplier to deal almost the same damage per hit in PvP as the CWC version. 5793 / 3250 = 1.782, so the CWC version has 78% greater damage in PvP (after reduction) The actual damage gain of CWC heavily depends on the chosen skill (slower skills are better to use), and the many input variables possible for a build Conclusion: with self-cast version of slow spells it is well worth to go CWC instead of self-casting. Skill tree link Gear, jewels, swaps: Main: GS x 13 The reduced cast speed on legacy Doedre gloves and the Scolds equals to a 37.5% more multiplier in PvP. Swaps: If you can't/won't get 0 mana cost you can use Kitava helmet instead, which gives the same cast speed. (with scold's it is important to have no mana cost, so your ES recharge is not prevented) For maximum abuse add Winter enchant and Scorching Ray. Stats: 30730 tooltip avg damage on Fireball (without EO) 79% Fire penetration (10% to others) 97% increased AoE (+4 base radius from 1 rolling flames) 113% increased projectile speed +148% movement speed with flask 8360 ES with Scolds and rare chest (MAIN) setup 9867 ES with Hubris and rare chest 7063 ES with Scolds and Skin chest 8857 ES with Scolds and rare chest TLDR: CWC can equal to around a free +160% more damage multiplier in PvP compared to a self cast build. I'm proud of you for doing something original like using scolds and pathfinder, but there's no zerphi's so unfortunately I won't be playing this.

The best skill to abuse this mechanic is Icestorm. It has T based on cast speed (unlike firestorm) and fixed hit rate.
with 1400+ int, 90% duration, PvP dps will be… significant. Problem: impostor syndrome Solution: nerf everything Result: depressing mess Last edited by a_z0_9#4860 on Mar 23, 2017, 5:06:34 PM

GGG really needs to reevaluate the "balance" they're doing with t-values.
pvp damage formula needs a complete overhaul Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.

This stupid interaction can also be used with herald of thunder.
