Bow skill setups?

I don't plan to pvp extensively but I have a fairly powerful bow char in breach and I'm trying to mess around in some duels/sarn arena.

The problem is, my build doesn't seem suited for pvp at all - I'm playing 100% ele conversion LA/barrage with point blank so the problems seem quite apparent. If someone runs into my barrage or tries to take me on close range, they die instantly, but it really struggles against more mobile builds, or ones that do high damage from range. I can take out point blank to have better ranged damage, but barrage still seems useless from afar unless somebody runs into it. LA is completely useless except against summoners.

I have GGGGRB and GGGRBB links, what could I put into those that would work better?

What you should do is remove point blank, switch elemental focus to a penetration gem and add block chance reduction instead of slower projectile and pierce. Your tooltip dps will drop but your "pvp" dps will increase immensely (you'll get elemental focus damage back with shock on crit). As you have a +1 arrow quiver you can drop GMP to LMP on your LA. I also strongly suggest to take Arcing Blow for even more penetration.

Then the strategy is quite simple, spam LA from offscreen than use barrage if your opponent manage to catch up.

Yes, I remove point blank whenever I plan to do some dueling. Penetration is weird because my damage is split across all elements, fire would've been the most useful but I don't have a spare red socket. I have a block reduction vs block stacking but they don't seem very common atm.

Is LA even good anymore? I've tried using split arrow but it felt really clunky.

La will still work to offscreen kill someone/anyone at max range of the skill or near obstacles, but in my experience* the skill needs increased aoe to shotgun overlap the secondary effects of the arrows. *I've only used la while leveling, in pvp I've only been on the receiving end.

You're already using physical to lightning gem, arcing blows will be a straight up upgrade to your dps, both in pve and pvp.

The best advice is probably to buy all possible gems and experiment yourself. Sometimes gems which drastically lower your damage will give a major boost in convenience. Faster projectiles, faster attacks, gmp to barrage if you're not using volley fire, ... Browse the gem list on the wiki and just get them all and experiment :)
