First time racing, is there a filter I should use?

Or do I just turn mine off? I'm using Neversink's standard filter, btw.

I'm not racing seriously, I'll just try to get the points for reaching certain levels. It's just that I had heard about racing filters before, so I was wondering. But now that I saw a Descent video, I have a better idea of what to expect.
