If possible I'd like to know the reason both Exiles Everywhere and Eternal Torment were changed to Void races this season? Still looking forward to playing both, especially the 2 hour Exile Onslaught race.
Agreed! Why void these two race event types?

As far as I can remember Exiles everywhere was always a void race.

Nope.

Exiles Everywhere was first introduced in race season ten. It hasn't been in every season since then, and when it does it is usually limited to about four events

The only mention of Void in the events leading up to this season were the two 3 day events which took place during The Awakening Closed Beta period. So the only time prior an Exiles Everywhere event was parented to Void was not during a race season and was significantly longer than 2 hours.

Feel free to double check, I might have missed something, but there was no mention of void in any of the announcements/descriptions, and the linked items are either for the event, standard or hardcore (which would not be the case if the event went to void).
EE is voided since the three day events and I personally have no problem with that. It always gives loot over the normal average.

Not correct. As stated above, the only Exiles Everywhere events parented to the void have been the 3 Day events. All of the race season Exiles Everywhere, up to this season, have been parented to Hardcore.
Spoiler
Just look at any account posting gear to the thread after the race, alphaaccount's posts are a great example because they did these posts for a number of different races. The items will tell you if they are being linked from a character in an event, standard, hardcore, or void when you mouse over them.
For all of alphaaccount's linked posts in Exile Everywhere races (Example post from the Winterheart Season), they are being linked from the event, standard, or hardcore. Never from void. Compare that with an Endless Ledge, or a Descent Champions post where the items are only from the event or void.

Obviously I don't know GGG's reasoning, but I'd guess it has to do with the *tons* of loot you get if you survive these races.
Then again, one might argue that an influx of some new loot into HC is not such a bad thing, since normally items only go out of HC. And to counter my counter: many people will die during the event, so the items end op in SC instead.

I'd guess that GGG thought about all this and more when making the decision. Or perhaps it's just an experiment.
