Alternate Low Level PVP

Just wanted to introduce a concept to anyone here on the forums reading:

Level 16 and level 40 pvp.

There are a few established duelers at each level, and they each have their perks.

Level 16
Really easy to gear, cheap, modding gear just becomes available and so do a lot of gems.
The lowest reasonable without superbly limiting your build options.

There are at least 5 or 6 pvp 16s that I know of, myself included.

Another big plus is, people just casually passing through act3 norm tend to be similar in strength - so you have a lot of pvp opportunities.


Level 40
Every gem is available, tons of uniques, lots of mods available on rares.

This is the highest level you can be, and still be allowed in the norm arena.

You can get all skill points through merciless, and all ascendancy points.

These are a ton of fun, sometimes more expensive to gear, but most people aren't super overpowered and a lot of builds are viable and fun at this level.

You say lvl 16 pvp is cheap and i can tell you its not. People wanna be the best by nature. They wanna be better than the others so they will try to max out their gear. Talking about 6 links, 20q gems and t1 rares. Its not any different than lvl 28 pvp. Just even more limited in options and the mod pool is smaller, which makes the items a little easier to craft. But you can easily dump around 50-100ex into that as well. For something that is even far less popular than lvl 28 pvp.

About lvl 40 pvp...

- even more expensive than lld
- no balance at all, since you got every option availabe - even ascendancy classes
- no queue, although you cannot find many matches in queue but atleast some

The only advantage i see about it is not being limited that much but thats not necessarily a good thing.

Find 6 beneficial support gems for level 16.
There's no point in having a 6 link.

40 is wide open, it's fun, not super cutthroat competitive.
There's just as little balance to be found as in level 28 pvp, as far as I've seen.

It's fun though - wide open arena, dueling just for the fun of dueling.
