Do any AUSTRALIANS play PoE?

Any Australians play PoE? And if so, what server?

I play on the Singapore server but still have 200+ latency.

It is not as laggy as the US server, but still pretty laggy.

I am pretty sure the servers, being where they are located, are just putting people off playing PoE due to the laggy gameplay??

I have no issues when i play Diablo 3....
The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

The singapore gateway usually gives superior ping to Australians, but right now the cable's been severed somehow. Totally out of GGG's hands, Use the US server from Australia until then.

But when things are working as intended, I get 150 ping from Sydney.

Sydney here, never had under a 200 ping, using the SG gate since I started on day 1 of OB, so it is what it is.

No wonder it seems like it's laggier than usual.

And lag = death at 65+. No enjoyment when you can't play normally and dying wipes away hours of play time.

I will check this game out again in a few weeks. Hopefully latency will improve..

I'm in Newcastle and my internet connection is fine for most things, but I have really been struggling with PoE. Latency is usually around 300ms, but the desyncs are much worse than that number would suggest and the game frequently locks up completely for several seconds. On top of that I get a lot of disconnects. The thing I am most annoyed about is what happens when you DC in town (seems to be much more common than DC on the battlefield). DC in town ought to have no real consequences, but as things stand, it destroys your TP so you can't easily get back to where you were fighting.

I think GGG's servers are still suffering from overload, despite the decline in active player numbers and the increase in capacity. If you play on the US servers, you really notice when the Americans wake up on a Saturday morning (so Saturday evening for us) - performance goes from just about OK to completely unplayable. Weekday evenings are much better because when it's evening here, players in Europe and the US are either asleep or at work.
Hi,

I'm from Brisbane, Australia and play on the Singapore Gateway.

I average 200ms.

I've desynced only a handful of times since OB started, its usually avoidable though if you learn how it happens.

I'm with Telstra.

I know my friends lag and complain because of their ISP because they use different routing methods, Such ISP's that use different routing include; Exetel, TPG, Optus.

If the game servers were fine 1 day and not the next I would suggest running some diagnostics on your own internet connection. Its very rare that either the SG or US gateways lag.

I would reccomend if you are with Exetel or TPG to immediately switch to one of the following:

Internode
iinet
Telstra

From my experiences and research these are the top 3 Gaming providers in the country.

More often than not, just because Path of Exile is in beta and is small (ish) doesn't necessarily mean its their servers, 99% of the time it will actually be your own internet connection.

I swear by Internode.

I'm with Internode in Melbourne. I usually have a latency of around 250 but there are a few time when it stays anywhere from 350 - 500. During those periods I just don't play.
Mebourne here, hover at about 150-200 most of the time

I'm AUS and the lag is a real issue at the moment so much so I'm actually logging on less and less because of it. Its a real shame because I'm loving this game and want to get some of the cosmetics as well but not if it unplayable which it is at the moment. Particularly for HC.
