Blasphemy

For those who are not in touch GGG showcased a new support "blasphemy" https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1475604 Here my take on it in the suggestion forum when I mentioned pvp: You see HLD pvp have a big strategy gameplay. With curses, you need to curse the player from far and risk to be locked on place for few micro seconds to cast the curses. This micro second to curse could be fatal to the cursing player. Curse on hit was a way to avoid that but you need to corrupt an item making the move expensive. The curse player would use curse flask, lasting 5 second of immunity. The non curse on hit user would need to remember or have the time to curse again when the player used a flask. Player cursed with curse on hit could just dodge the attack and kite the curser. You could link the curse with CWDT but you need to take damage for you to cast it at full potential. Sometime just getting hit mean you were dead. However nothing like that with an aura. Player will curse all the time, no need to remember or find a safe place to curse. The cursed (even worse if he is melee) will be auto cursed at once he enter the curser melee distance. Goodbye curse strategy! What about players like melee crit? they will get auto-enfeeble all the time making crit useless. Every crit users will go bow since you can be far away. Another layer of build diversity will die with those auto curse, the melee criters. My advice about this aspect. Make the blasphemy reduce the curses for at least 50% of their effect in pvp. *edit* Did not think about it but what about dischargers? It will be op for them, borderline broken. How do you think this blasphemy support would change the gameplay if this go out like it is annonced? I actually feel like the curse auras might favor the melee players. For blood magic users this change doesnt do anything but if you actually use mana as your resource the new curse auras will be great.
This is because currently you either have to use a useless lvl 12 curse without quality through corrupted gloves, cast the curses manually or through cwdt. All of those are rather bad options since either the curses are weak or they wont be cast on the target at the right time. Applying multiple curses is also a pain in the ass currently. From a melee stand point I think the curse auras can be considered as cast while moving, at the exact right time when its needed, automatically. Sounds pretty powerful! Applying multiple curses at the same time wont be a problem either. Ranged users on the other hand have to press their curse pot reactively after the melee decides to initiate with their pesky 56% slow TC. Also bowers desperately need that vuln on hit to do anything at all. I'm still not exactly sure if this change is a good thing for pvp.. everyone will use it so its balanced :P I kinda like it it's a cheap way to compete with those temp chains gloves.

More automation yayyy.....

^Ladies. With that said, It's not too bad for melee, Tc / enfeeble Defensive mechanic, or Ele Weakness + flammability to counter general low res Ea characters, with AoF / Ele Rt'ers. but the thing that bum's me out the most is that Punishment is only trigged from "melee attacks" Only Thus no Effect on Rangers. Poacher's mark is interesting though, 30-50% LESS Evasion, Isn't that kinda like a block/ dodge reduction gem? But, it doesn't specificity amplify accuracy from enfeeble debuff. Either way, I see Poacher's & Assmark duo curse / possible punishment a huge buff for melee characters (PVE), Perhaps Shavs will actually be a thing again. + unyielding & Enfeeble pretty much still counters Crit though, Unless you go REALLY Deep into Accuracy optimization, Which nobody is, Assassins 321- 400 + radiance 15/ 5-10% Accuracy Rating Diamond rings 400 acc gloves/ Helm Tbh Pvp Wise, I wont even use this, Unless they cripple my current lvl 21 CWDT setups. PVE wise, This is a huge buff for my PA build, Perma Vul + Projectile weakness. Poacher's offers frenzy, but then again, Blood dance offers much more regen & frenzy regen. But the Life on hit / mana on hit is huge, LLBMIG ST Might revive itself, but Really I'm level 100 who cares about pve nowadays. Lels@ end game. " Most people who self cast curses have enough cast speed that it really is a non issue to stand still for a millisecond. Also the range at which you can self cast curses should be enough to allow anyone to safely curse their opponent in most maps. Most times im cursing people I cant even see except for on my mini map. Also if your always using an anti curse flask every time your getting cursed your doing things wrong. Doing that will drain your flasks within the first round and guarantee you a loss vs a competent opponent. I play a lot of matches cursed the whole time, unless the curse is the only thing stopping me from winning I dont feel the need to waste a flask charge which could potentially be another 4k+ life for my character. You dont have to have a corrupted item to use curse on hit. Its also a gem and people link it to things like (Iceshot, GMP, Temp Chains, Enhance,) Lvl 12 temp chains corruption on gloves is a joke compared to the 4l setup I just listed. If a player is already using curses your matches wont be much different when the blasphemy gem comes out. Sure it opens up some cool new options but curses are nothing new in PvP there are means to countering them. " If your getting Enfeebled you should be using poachers mark and assassins mark to counter it. The 25% mana reservation is going to stop a lot of build from using it. Anything thats BM like 2h RT or EA wont want to loose that amount of life for curses. EA (and bows in general) already have good ways to apply stronger than normal curses. I do agree that more automation in PvP isnt a good thing but this gem is getting way more credit that its due. Cries to disable it in PvP before its even out... no wonder the Devs dont take this sub section seriously. IGN:Dethklok
