[HotW Submission] The Abandoned Station - video, screenshots, 750 deco cap

Please note that the following part will describe the background of my Hideout which means that it is an addition to the Hideout itself.
I decided to make a diary of an Azmerian compiler named Libero who works at The Library. The story takes place in about 200 years ago and describes the Cataclysm regarding to Libero's experiences.
Please be aware about a possible incomprehensibility of the following text due to its character. A diary may not be meant to be read by others nor to be understood completely which is why I decided not to describe everything I mentioned in Libero's Diary.
I hope you understand my reasoning and if you want any additional informations I have thought to myself but not written down in the text please do not hesistate to ask me :)

After the period of half a year I have finally finished the translation of an antique book which was entrusted to me by Trinian, Intellectus Prime.
I felt very released that no page did get damaged during my work because of its historical value.

When I arrived at Trinian's study a horrible rumble did occur and the earth began to shake. I have never experienced such discomfort before.
I opened the door of the study and wanted to talk to Trinian. Once he didn't answer I took a closer look at him.
I tried to find an answer to my questions as I was used to find answers by a simple look into his eyes.
But all I saw was pure madness and that brought a truly creepy horror to me.

Without hesitation I rushed to the door and slammed it as fast as possible. In addition I barricaded it with all available chairs.
After a short moment of unnatural silence the remains of Trinian banged on the door, fortunately failing to break through.

What a terrible loss of knowledge..


I decided to sneak into my room as fast and quiet as possible.

When I arrived I blocked all exits. I have seen other Gemlings behaving very strangely aswell.
I fear that all Gemlings are affected by this strange insanity...

I was unable to close my eyes at night due to the sounds of painful screams or drowning explosions coming from any direction..

I have decided to leave The Library and to fight my way towards The Station, hoping to find a safe hideout over there.

I achieved to sneak by a Gemling and reached the exit.
After opening the door I was stunned by this awful sight: The Imperial Gardens were wrapped up in a factitious darkness altough the sun should be up. The whole place was covered with corpses and flooded with blood. In addition, dusky figures were strolling through the paths. I believe Wraeclast did get cursed.

I rushed into the thicket off the main road to hide myself.
On the way towards the Terraces I met Victoria and her husband. They told me that they built a camp deeper in the Imperial Gardens. I joined them and we went to their camp.

I convinced the group to follow me but it will take some time until we can start.

Thankfully my beloved sister is still alive!

We left the Imperial Gardens successfully and reached the Terraces. A huge fire was blocking the way but also drew the Gemlings attention.
I realized that there is another way to the Station who leads through the Sewers.

On the way we were attacked by a Gemling. One of our companions was thrown on the ground, after that the Gemling ripped his throat and killed him immediately. I have never seen such brutality before.
The presumed dead companion arised a moment later although his head was almost severed.
We ran away as fast as our legs would carry.

We reached the Sewers without further problems and noticed that we were in need of a break.
After pitching the camp we decided to wait until tomorrow before we move on.

Victoria's husband and the other companions have left us. It seems like they want to live or die without us.

We passed through the Sewers and climbed a letter that lead us into a blank storehouse which means that we have reached the Warehouse District.

When we left the storehouse we did get surrounded by a group of about twenty people. After a short questioning they offered us to join them and we didn't hesistate to do so.
During a break I talked to the leader of the group. He told me that all exits of the city they have seen were impassable. He still wants to go to The Station because he assumes this place to be a safe hideout.

In addition he told me that he is a soldier of the Purity Legion and he recommended me to stay with his group if I want to survive.
In that point he may be right but there is something that tells me something is wrong with him.

On our way to The Marketplace some Gemlings came up to us but the group was able to defend itself by excellent teamwork. Nobody has died.

When we entered The Marketplace the walking remains of Victoria's husband approached us. We payed our last respects to him..

I hope Victoria overcomes this loss.

The group is in urgent need of a rest. We pitched a camp for this night and gathered new strength.

We started early and reached The Station a short time after.

Noone has been here for one week now and it appears to be a place where we can hide and survive.

We have explored and secured the whole area.
Downstairs there is the barricaded exit they used for the transport of people and food. We also found an old, small tunnel.
The main-level consists of the signal man's house, a deserted tavern that looks rather crumbling, the entry to The Marketplace and a well full with fresh water.
In addition, standing on a plateau there is an unfamiliar engine that seems to be built only recently.

We have positioned guards at all entries and settled in as well as possible.
I want to study the engine but noone should come too close to it as long as we don't know what it does.
