Quitting this game again..

Because I'm writing this at 6:00pm Pacific Standard Time (prime time) on a holiday and I've been sitting in my hideout queued for 3v3 Best-of-Seven Open Dueling for half an hour. Not allowed to leave my hideout let alone venture outside.

I came back to this game after reading about how they implemented 1v1, 3v3, and CTF arenas, but even after a year they can't get enough people in for a single match. It seems their PvP efforts came too little too late.

My question would be are there any plans to improve this with 2.0 and act 4? If not I don't think I'll be returning for a long time..

Edit: Also the PvP Daily mission today involves the 3v3 arena I'm queued for and still not popping.

You can't matchmake solo from your hideout. The only way you can go solo in a 3vs3 events is by being in the same instance as 5 other people doing the same thing (usually people in sarn arena agreeing to do that) otherwise you need to have a team ready.

Yikes.. thanks for the information! Sounds like the queue system needs a major overhaul..

Yeah it's pretty messed up for team play, looks like the server can't find multiple people and match them if they are not already gathered somehow (instance or party).
Even if you queue for 1v1 there is rarely some1 in queue too, and you can wait 1h without playing. the thing is ggg started working on pvp (in a pathetic way) when 99% of the people really interested in pvp already quit after making 1000 suggestions threads and got tired. so now there isnt pvp population at all, beside like 20 person

Well one of the problem is, those who would be interested are trying it once or two in sarn and get spawn killed instantly by sadistic kids who get boners by killing afk noobs (Ivan).
If only they would help them or give advices but most just roll over them until they puke and quite.

From experience most TOP pvpers I meet there are not like that (I can think of Mies, Icedeal, Tommi who often can help noobs and average enthusiasts) but I still think a lot more Top players could start educate the noobs in order to make the scene grow a little more.

By just spawnkilling noobs with EA without giving advices a lot of Pros are actually making a lot of noobs quit after few tries. In a way Even if GGG are shitting on PVP balance the pros also have a part of responsibility.

Racing for example get more and more players simply because to racers are streaming and sharing tips with people.

I can t imagine what my frustration would have been if when just starting Kick-boxing, people around would have kicked my ass days after days without even helping me to improve a little or give advices.

IMO pros should share old builds or advices in PVP forum more often.

For 1 vs 1 ladder thing, I think a system of matchmaking should be used because when a level 60 get to meet level 90 top 10 using EA they can quick get depressed and stop trying.

Yeah I'm a big PvP guy and that's why I quit the first time for a year or so. They just made it crystal clear that PvP is not a priority. I hoped maybe that changed in the last year or so because I love the customization in this game. I suppose I'll drop this game again in favor of more PvP oriented games.

Well if you are looking for the perfect pvp game suported by their develloper, PoE is definitly not the game for you.

But so far i'm in love with the theorycrafting/fighting style of aRPG pvp, I just accept that it;s never going to be fairly balanced but as long as the big stuff is fixed (like RF and Hopefully EA in a near futur) i'm fine with that.

It would also help to not be randomly insulted by pm by players who's lives obviously revolve 100% around poe pvp (wich is pretty sad imo).
That's the thing, I love the theory crafting and fighting style of the game too! Honestly everything BUT the PvP in this game is perfect. I grew up playing Diablo 2 and leveling, theory crafting, and pvping and it was great. I think for me and many others looking forward to end game PvP is what makes PvE enjoyable in an aRPG.

I just wish GGG would put just a bit more effort into PvP or at least have more transparent communication with the PvP community so we know what to expect and how we can help to improve it for them. At the very least they just need to give the PvP community the tools they need to make PvP in this game better for everyone because I think people like you and I would jump at the chance to help.
