Hi guys, I am a new player. I have been having a lot of fun just playing through the game, seeing what is possible, without worrying too much about what some might call the metagame. My first character has reached approx. level ~50, and I participated in 1 or 2 race events. I think I managed to collect 5 points so far. I like the idea of the events during the seasons, and that there are smaller rewards that are attainable to casual, or even new players.

This event though, the brutal party, I am not sure about. I sort of want to give it a shot, but I wonder whether am I going to be a huge detriment to anyone else by participating with almost no prior knowledge about it. I realize that my character will almost certainly be killed early on by another player, based on the rules. I don't mind, I just want a chance to get maybe 1 or 2 points toward my season total.

Will I be screwing over other, more experienced players by participating?

At best I'm an average racer and do all "party" races solo. For me, "brutal" is not as hard as "turbo" (where everything is super fast). I would say give it a try... keep in mind that everything is a little stronger than normal. Worse case scenario you die with no points... and even then you can start a new player and try again. :)
This isn't a pvp event, so you can't be killed by another player.
You can play it solo, no need to join a party if you don't find one. Just go slow and you'll get a few more points - monsters do 20% more damage in this brutal mod (and more attack speed etc? Don't remember it exactly)
damn it was ranked forty to fifty and ripped at 13 early on FML

Playing marauder @ Hardcore leagues

Started late but made the minimum effort for 5 points.

Was it worth it?

Out of 25 I got these:

Such luck.
Randomly raced, had to get my name into top 20. Mission accomplished.
