Sword nodes
Is there any particular reason that swords are so much better than any other weapon? The nodes in both duelist and marauder tree are so much stronger than any axe/staff/mace/claw/dagger node selection. Nothing else can come close to matching the attack speed, damage, and range of swords, which is kind of baffling. Any thoughts?

Maurauder is possibly stronger than duelist, imo. There is just no drawback of goign sword. The nodes are the best, the swords themselves are the best, the node locations are at unbelievably convenient spot.
Maybe introduce a unique that directly counters swords? |

Bow nodes seem awfully convenient, as are elemental and spell damage for their respective starts.

Block pen to me make sword users deadly, other than that, it seems ok.

Make an axe maurauder, get less dps, less life than making a sword maurauder. Make an axe duelist, get less dps, less block penetration, less range (by far). Couple this with swords inherent APS and range... clear imbalance. You can make an effort to convince me otherwise.
Compare that with crit daggers, lose tons of life on tree, gear getting crit chance, crit multi, much shorter range, less base dps, less dmg on tree (acrobatics is barely a buff anymore), all for the chance to score barely more damage (crit) than a sword builds base attack. Compare sword with claws, much higher range, higher aps, dps, block, etc. *ranger even has OP sword circle if you want to get acrobatics and the easiest route to ondar's. Resolute technique drawback (cannot crit) isn't even applicable to swords because no sword users go crit. All of these keystones pushing sword users off the charts is just another reason to go cookie cutter and join the circus. .. I don't mean to offend any of my buddies that play sword, buut. |
