Season Ten, Event 52: Four Hour Piety Kill

Please click this link if this is your first race event. A guide has been posted here which covers general aspects and strategies of racing. A summary of Time based events: Timed based events are new type of event introduced in Race Season 9, they are designed to create a new kind of competitive environment where players compete not by character experience, but by their capabilities to progress through the game and complete specific objectives, such as killing bosses. The boss required to be defeated for this race is: Piety, located in Lunaris Temple Level 3.
Boss Kill Prizes: Each Player to kill Piety in Normal difficulty will receive 5 Reward Points. Top Prizes: The overall top player by time will receive 3 Reward Points. The top 20 players of each class by time will receive:
Prizes for reaching specific levels and staying alive:
Quest Prizes: The first player to complete each of these quests wins the prize listed.
Full-clear Prizes: The first player to kill all of the monsters in any of the following areas will receive:
Random Prizes: Reward points earned in this race grant tickets in a random draw for the following items:

ms of L-1 vendor, upgrated to 15% later with extra qs 2 qs droped, 1 from climb, 1 from ship gravyard Hrimsorrow gloves from climb 58% ipd maul from Brutus didn't find woodsplitter augmented AS on poleaxe crafted 20%Q 88% ipd Doubleaxe at L-23. had to log at low HP 3 times during the race, mostly caused by desync. went 2 wrong ways in solaris-1 Playing with 70-80ms ping, which is causing long loading between zones, resulting in 2-4 minutes disadvantage in 1 hour races. Went for Den since i didn't see a message pop for someone to enter it an as i was about to full clear it got taken.. went for dread thicket after and got that. If i didn't do these it would have been close.

I knew I should have skipped this one.. I dont mind loosing if its fair, but not to desync. was all the way in docks; 150 minutes wasted!

>17th Ladder >4th Duelist Beat my old record by nearly 20mins whikle feeling I knew a lot better what I was doing :) That being said, I shudder to think what a more experienced racer could have done with my solid gear drops from early on: Early gear Later gear Recap - Cleave might be my fave playstyle but Leapslam + Added Fire is just too good. -- With Hatred you oneshot entire mobs your level +3 while moving towards next quest objective. - Decoy Totem = MVP. Makes bossfights much more easy and allows farming areas with dangerous minibosses - Lv20/21 good benchmark to face vaal (gear pending) - Docks farmable as melee with 2x fire rings and decoy totem no probs - Piety herself is not hard. The following mobs are MUCH more scary than facing piety herself --- Sewer Discharger mobs (hence skip statuettes entirely) --- Ebony soldier chargers --- Blue ebony soldier Arc casters - Most top-10 classes don't stop to fight any mobs from powdering sewer butthole all the way to Piety Improvements for next time - Skip Way forward bonus point - Face Piety right on Lv27 to go with 80% IPD 2h Sword Also, OP gemcutters ftw: Last edited by alphaccount#4851 on Jan 3, 2015, 3:38:33 AM

Started 25 mins late so with no chance at the demi i took it slow and safe. Still managed to eat a 700 damage hit from the summoner exile, somehow escaped with 11 life and returned to finish the job. Rest of the race was uneventful thanks to not rushing and life on everything, and still good for 6th in class as these boss rushes are apparently about as popular as pvp events.
Also randomly had all the exact sockets and links i needed by the start of a2, but kept collecting chromes anyway out of habit: GG all, see you next race. IGN: KoTao
