Make ranking acct wide
One of the first things I'm noticing w/ LLD is atm I'm mostly testing builds, it took me a while to get interested so I'm way behind here. I have some gear but not insane like some people. The problem with this is every new character starts at the bottom of the rankings. So I end up against a completely mixed bag. I don't have a clue if my build works against people that I'm actually trying to beat because either I'm crushing newbies using premades or I'm getting smoked by someone with better gear/skill doing the same thing that I'm doing.
This is really going to discourage new people to get into it if every time they join they end up against someone who clearly isn't just splashing around for the first time. Couple of changes I suggest would be to take the ladder ranking as account wide, it's clear if someone is #1 on the ladder that even if they reroll to try something out that they still have the gear that allows them to be #1. Second I think that the premades should have an automatically lower ranking so people using them will more likely face someone who is also using a premade. I have found myself only using the premades to get gems so to make it so people like me don't have to do this, have some leveled gems on the fresh 28s. We need new people playing and their first experiences can't be getting one shot by anyone they come in contact with. Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th

but what happens if I have a GG caster and I decide to try out a bow build that I have next to no gear for?
Do I start facing the GG geared people that just melt me in 2-3 hits or do I get a chance to face people that are also starting out? LLD BOTW spark/arc caster guide http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1133731

Yes. Because most people aren't in that boat of crafting just for one character. Many are general MFing, much of the gear is universal, I mean tri res, life, MS boots aren't class specific after all and even a build using mostly uniques will out class someone just starting out.
If you have a GG build you already understand the mechanics and are at a higher skill level then someone starting out for the first time. If you're top of the ladder it can't be hard to just find a friend to test ideas out on, someone starting up might not have this option. So yes, if you have a GG caster and want to try a new build on ladder you should be against tougher opponents rather than someone w/o GG anything. Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th
