Question about pvp gear (which league are pvp characters attached to?)

In the upcoming season events, can we equip our pvp-only characters with gear from standard league? Or can we equip them only from gear acquired from the new short term leagues?

In other words, will the new pvp only characters belong to standard league and its economy or will they belong to the new shorter leagues and its economy?

So apparently you can make a pvp character linked to stardard but linked to the new short league.

But question, which league would the pvp events be tied to?
