How does loot assignment work?
Last night while doing Ledge and then Felshrine farming, I saw other people getting ridiculous drops. One guy got a quality Chain, a GCP, and alch orb, and an exalted orb in the SAME RUN. I got some trash rare and about 20 scrolls of wisdom. I wish I was kidding...Then there was a run where we killed the boss totem in Ledge and I literally was assigned no loot. Zero.
So my question is, how does loot get assigned when it drops? Is it based on the killing blow? The percentage of damage done to the mob? Completely RNG? Any help here is appreciated. Last bumped on Oct 31, 2023, 7:48:58 PM

https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Partying#Effect_on_loot
In short, there are 3 rules for loot allocation. 1) Free for all. Which the name implies, everyone free to loot anything. 2) Short allocation. Items will be reserved for a player in a short amount of time. Then after that duration expired, anyone can loot em. 3) Permanent allocation. Items will be permanently allocated to certain players, no other players can directly pick up that item after it dropped beside the allocated player. I assume you already know that 3 rules, but in-case you didn't, I put em there. However, if your actual question is wanting to know how an item is allocated in Permanent Allocation rule, beside of being random, you need to ask the devs to know the nitty-gritty of it. | |
